Matt’s Fourth Birthday

Filed under: Family — Melissa at 6:55 am on Saturday, April 28, 2007

On Friday, April 20th, we had a Disney Cars birthday party with Matt’s friends at pre-school. I really enjoyed spending more time in his classroom, and he was VERY excited to finally have his “firthday!” Before the party, Matt finished up marble painting his lake in his painting smock (one of Daddy’s big old t-shirts!)

Then, on Saturday, April 21st, his actual birthday, we had a family breakfast party in our jammies.

We had two weddings and a soccer game that day, and then the Autry family came to visit us. Erin and Matt had so much fun with his new Cars race track.

Yesterday was Matt’s fourth birthday finale, “A Day Out with Thomas the Tank Engine”! It was truly everything we had hoped it would be for him. We went as a family to the Tennessee Railroad in Chattanooga, TN. There was a blowup Percy, a Moonwalk/Jump train, a ride on Thomas the train, a chat with Sir Toppham Hat, himself, and a petting zoo.

Now YOU Can Buy/Win Those Great Hair Bows That Tori Wears!

Here is the link:

Tori wants to let all of her sweet girl cousins in on her secret of where she gets her great hair accessories, and she’s planning to give you a bow of your choice for Christmas this year, so you can start deciding which one you would like. I’m sure that Love-Me-Knots will have a special Christmas Line so you may want to wait til December to make your selection.

I think that all of you know, but the reason that I’m plugging Love-Me-Knots is that Melissa, Dawn and I have been friends forever and we’ve been going to church together since the early 90′s, so naturally, I would endorse most anything that they did, but I have to tell you that these bows are truly a beautiful product. I used to tease Melissa that I wished I could have a girl just so I could have an excuse to buy one of her bows!  This is Tori on the Saturday before Easter with a very sweet lavender Love-Me Knot!

Tori is finally taking steps!

This should have been posted the Monday before Easter, but I’m not going to predate it because I don’t want anyone to miss this exciting news, and to tell you the truth, not a lot has change since that wonderful day almost two weeks ago when she took steps in our kitchen between her mommy and her daddy. I tried to take pictures on two separate evenings, but this was challenging since the only way that she would walk was if Chris or I were standing near with outstreched arms.

Tori loves outside. She doesn’t mind crawling around on the concrete driveway and getting filthy, but she doesn’t like touching grass.  She says, “OOK!” (rhymes with book) when she falls in the grass.  This week at soccer practice, she kicked and followed a ball for about 20 yards, while Daddy was watching her.  Of course, when Mommy came up, she somehow became jelly legs and couldn’t move a muscle.

Happy Easter

We were just finished hunting our eggs, when the postwoman pulled all the way up the drive way to deliver four packages addressed to each of the children from Granny.
